This darling couple came back to their hometown to be married. They met in high school and then went off to college, one in Kansas and the other in Connecticut and dated long distance until their wedding day. The bride moved to New York City and the groom lives on a submarine(not all of the time but a lot), so it was very important for them to return to the place where there family and so many of their friends remain to tie the knot. We loved creating something beautiful, traditional yet new and fresh for this sweet couple. Planning with the bride and her mother long distance was one of the easiest things we’ve ever done. Trusting us with their dreams yet being active and involved in the process made this one of the most wonderful experiences. The bride’s dress was timeless and elegant with the most gorgeous veil and the groom wore his Naval Officer dress whites. Their wedding on the golf course of the country club where the couple grew up playing tennis, was set under a gorgeous tree, with beautiful ground florals and glasses of champagne being passed. We honored their love for their hometown by designing their seating chart with the ordinance of the city. Also a nod to the groom’s naval career. And each guests table assignment came with a compass. We loved adding the warmth of wooden tables and chairs to the pretty blues and greens of the color palette. A beautiful oversized blue hydrangea installation was the centerpiece of the ballroom adding a little drama, it was over the head table where small lamps and gorgeous place settings made for a unique and special place for the bride and groom to share their first meal as husband and wife. Modern banquette seating both straight backed with floral arrangements at the top and curved banquettes surrounding the dance floor, created an intimate yet sophisticated feel. An oversized bar with beautiful shelving and oversized floral arrangements flanking the curved ends created a showpiece and a fun place for folks to gather. The dance floor was hopping all night, with the exception of when the queso fountain was rolled out, just in Queso someone was hungry.
